Hello from Johannesburg.
I took these pics last week.
This bamboo seems to be a thin walled, slender(2 inches at most) and very tall, approx 3 storeys.
I had read somewhere that it is easier to identify a plant if there is a shoot to see. There was only 1 available for me to photograph.
Some of the culms did have a grey blue appearance, but most were green. There were very few dead culms.
I did ask the owner for permission to dig a root ball, he was not overly enthusiastic at the idea. One will be better than none though and I am grateful for it.
Any help will be much appreciated

Hi Justin
I would love to see this bamboo or also get my hands on a piece (without angering your neighbour further.
Don't know if he will be interested in trading for a small B. Balcooa or perhaps P. Nigra? Alternatively cash for e-toll.
Regards
