Re: please help me ID these seeds
Is it still illegal to import bamboo seeds, or has that restriction been lifted (or expired)?

Re: please help me ID these seeds
Was it here that somebody posted the story of a USDA inspector showing up and seizing or destroying his entire bamboo collection because of something (seeds?) he got from overseas? I tried searching but couldn't find it.
I'm not trying to worry you terrabamboo, just trying to share info. Of course I can't verify that story, or even that I'm remembering correctly, but still worth being cautious.

Re: please help me ID these seeds
To legally import seed you have to go thru the USDA and they will plant them in 2 pots and if the plants are shown to be disease free they will send you the pots.Alan_L wrote:Is it still illegal to import bamboo seeds, or has that restriction been lifted (or expired)?
I think the quarantine period for seeds is 6 months.
You cannot keep more than 2 pots worth of a single species, seeds or plants.
