do these have broad leaves like bambusa ventricosa?

Yes, I assumed you didn't take them or you would probably have known what they were...

P. Edulis is nothing like Bambusa ventricosa. Why do you ask? One is a clumper, one is a runner. One is temperate, one is semi-tropical. But you
can use google to educate yourself.
