Well, it does look like every culm section has some kind of green stripes but they're very faint and not necessarily in the sulcus. Perhaps what I have is a tweener. Not quite Aureocaulis, and not yet a Spectabilis. I'll need to wait a few more years with more culm samples to draw a conclusion.

Oh and my yellow is not so yellow. To get bright yellow culms, do we expose it to more sun? or less sun?

Sorry, I should've said "alternating stripes," since I think maybe they are also present on lower internodes where there are no sulci. On my spectabilis, the culms are bright yellow with quite vivid green stripes at sheath fall but then the color fades out a bit over time, especially on culms in full sun.
