I found a grove of bamboo which is now shooting like crazy. Rhizomes are yellow, culms are green at first then they become yellow-green. There are some broken culms partly colored black, which makes me think it could be P. nigra, but I'm not sure, because 2 year culms seem to be almost yellow (rhizomes as well).
Any ideas?

That's what I thought for a while, but I don't thing node rings are persistent enough. It might be Phyllostachys viridiglaucescens too if the shoots match. They seem quite dark.
