I bought this variegated Pleioblastus last summer. It came with the tag Pleiblastus albostriatus. I can't find this name in any of my resources. Is it P chino?
I only have these two pictures right now. Hopefully it survived the winter.
Suggestions?
When does it usually shoot?...in relation to other cold hardy bamboo.

Greetings and welcome, I suspect that the Pleioblastus could be correct or the Albostriatus could be correct but not together. It could be Sasaella masamuneana 'Albostriata' or perhaps Pleioblastus argenteostriatus or as you suggest one of the Pl. chino forms, or one of the vast number of other Pl variegated forms. If it is the Sasaella, it will have wider and longer leaves and will fade to lots less variegation over the summer, plus there could be some other ID traits you can look for.

It kept its variegation through summer. I have / had Sasaella masamuneana 'Albostriata' and it didn't have the same form. I think I killed the Sasaella this winter. I had it inside, it got bamboo mites, so I put it outside in the middle of winter to kill the mites ( I think it hit -19C a couple nights later and it had no protection and the plants didn't harden off). I think I killed about 7 bamboo this way at the same time. I really didn't want the mites to get to my other, larger bamboo. A Borinda angustissima to be specific.

I'll post pics of the shoots if the mystery plants starts shooting.

It looks like it has some more complex branching so the Chino thought may be a good lead, I suspect you're on the right track.
