My Bambusa Membranacea... now Dendrocalamus Membranacea... may actually now be Dendrocalamus Membranaceus "striata". All new culms are coming out with white or light green stripes. When I got it from Chuck Theroux at Bountiful Earth, it was only green with no stripes.
I need to get in touch with Chuck to see if any others started getting stripes. When Chuck and I visited John Rogers' place in Florida, one of the bamboo that really looked nice at his place was the Dendrocalamus Membranaceus. Very nice open clumper.
I noticed that there is a bamboo posted in the pictures with the name Dendrocalamus Membranaceus "striata" posted under just Dendrocalamus Membranaceus from Guapiles, Costa Rica.
It will interesting to follow and see how this bamboo progresses. It is now in the ground at the farm.
Anyone else have similar experiences? Most of the pictures of the culms and shoots are posted in the Pictures.
Thanks for your feedback.
