Like you say dose look happy :D

Nothing like seeing new shoots...

Who's the supplier because you might want to dig a bit deeper on the Id , there's no reference to a borinda pallens but one pallens that's often said to look like one is Chimonocalamus pallens and there's no visible grooving on the culms which is a feature of borinda. It also seems to have some slight developed lower buds but I can't ever recall seeing these on a borinda either.

There a thread on that one here with some pics in the gallery.

Looks a very nice plant either way :D

Cheers

I've seen the C. pallens (same nursery) and it is an outstanding plant. Verrrry expensive. B. Sourcery had some donated at the last ABS auction. My bid of 150 bucks was not close to losing bid.
The B. pallens is pretty new so I doubt there is much info on it.

Markj - took your advice and have found out my plant was not labled correctly. It is a Chimonocalamus not a Borinda.
Tracked down others who had purchased the plant at the nursery and found the majority had it labled correctly. The good news is that I paid 25 % of what it was worth. A really beautiful plant and it's still shooting like crazy. Thanks for your followup. Rgds

So what's the correct name for it -- Chimonocalamus pallens?

Fred- if you get a chance at a small division off of it this fall, I may be able to do the same off my Borinda fungosa "white cloud", which would do worlds better for you down there than up here in the arctic circle!

Gene - just planted abt a year ago, plus had to nurse it back to health after transplant shock. Too early to take any divisions. Maybe next year. Rgds
