a friend let me dig up some ryz. they were 11/2"-2" culms green and 25' tall. he called it golden bamboo? i havent noticed any golden about it. but here it is

Hard to tel from your pics but it looks like a good ID- aurea has a slight swelling below the node, easy to spot in Roy's posted pic a little harder in yours but you can see a faint swelling

It doesn't really yellow up though, unless it's the 'Holochrysa' form

my friends grove is probably 20'x15' and as green as my lawn and its in the sun, southern exposure? i havent found anything that matches the description yet.but then i havent done a ton of res. either
