Location: Higuera Blanca, Nayarit mexico - 30 miles N of Puerto Vallarta
Not native to mexico, but found in a nursery here. They have no idea what it is. Has some distinctive features on the shoots that may make it easy to identify for you experts out there.
Take not of the white striping on the shoots which are hard to see in the photos. No stripes on older culms. none on leaves.

Over all leaves are smallish. This plant was purchased as a 5 gal plant in a local nursery in Nayarit. It has been in the ground 2 full years. These culms are brand new (about 1 inch in diameter). They claimed it was a smaller bamboo. Drought tolerant in my experience.
