Here is the second plant I need help with. It is similar in size but does get a little taller. 8 to 12 inches here. I got this plant from Bamboo Bill who lives about 15 miles from me.

As can be seen in the pics the leaves have hair on the top and bottom.

Michael,
I changed your photos to use the [img] tags instead of the <img html so it would resize the photos for people with smaller monitors.
I have the new code for the ShowPictures2 page that will includ this and I will try and get it on the website tonight.

Bill

Michael,

Short little hairy bamboo and I think Pleioblatus. Maybe similar to viridistriatus? Is it growing in the dense shade?

Yes, that looks like Pl. viridistriatus, you can tweak the color with the amount of direct sun - more sun, more intense yellow w/green stripes, less sun, green w/green stripes

Hi Mike,

The long leaf description kept me away from that one. Looking at the picture though, I am ready to label it Pleioblatus viridistriatus.

Is it growing under a Live Oak canopy - maybe 70% shade? I have a place with more shade and I will put it in the ground and see what it does there.

Thank You,

Michael McMillon
