Gracilis Growing Season

When is the shooting season for Gracilis bamboo? Mine are still sending up new shoots which I planted in May & June this year which is exciting. Will it send up shoots and suddenly end the growing season at only half way up? If so, do those shoots pick back up again next year or top off in that spot? Is there any type of growth during winter such as leafing out?

Thanks!

I have not had mine long enough to answer your questions but I bought mine in Feb and then it had a shoot about 3 feet tall with no branches, it kept going up and branched w/o pausing and that shoot could not have been more than a few weeks up.

I planted my Graceful among others May 2016 and I'm finally seeing new shoots for 2017. In ground and in pots.

They weathered 21 F very good.

I'm in Lithia Florida and some of mine will sporadically shoot all year if it doesn't get too cold. Same with my B. Chungii. But for the most part, Gracilis tends to start shooting around June-ish
