The cool part about these propagators is one side is clear and roots can be examined without disruption. I've gotten some really good advise on how to propagate the branches, but I'm still a little unclear on the exact methodology. I like the suggestion of trimming the branch down to one leafy node above the node chosen to propagate. Should I choose a node with branches and prune them off or a naked node? I plan to lightly scrape the bark above and below the node then apply rooting compound.Tarzanus wrote:I would wait a couple of weeks for the roots to become strong enough to sustain the cutting. You will need to keep it shaded at the beginning, but it should work. Experiment, I haven't been doing a lot of that, I just like to experiment.
Do you have any history of this branch propagating experiment?
