I'll be there. :thumbright:
On Thursday I will be at the board meeting. :banghead:
The other days I will be the one with a baseball cap with the ABS logo on it.
Did you sign up for the Saturday Booze Cruise? :occasion5:

Bill
Bill,

I have better booze at home for a lot less.....I have been on a Hornblower cruise before.....no excitement....and it may be raining...

I'll be the fat man who knows nothing and making a lot of noise...I'll wear a bamboo floral shirt....after all, it's San Francisco.

The big draw of the cruise is being around dozens of Bambuseros talking about bamboo.

That is a tempting draw, but I will be unable to attend the dinner:

1) I have been on a Hornblower ship....you will have a ton of fun
2) I have a previous committment (made by she who will not be named) for that evening.
3) There seems to be a lot of slack time in the agenda to discuss bamboo...
4) No mention of excessive alcohol was in the brochure.

Nonetheless, I wll miss the opportunity, but be back bright and early on Saturday to fully participate.

Thursday – Sunday, November 6-9

Reminder: only a few more days left to sign up for
Tour to Bamboo Sourcery Nursery and Gardens (Sebastopol)
Sunday, November 9, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
We need your response in advance in order to provide the catered Asian lunch for all who attend. The registration form is available via the registration page on the meeting website. Signups will also be possible on Friday, November 7, at the conference, but earlier signup would be most helpful to us. Deadline for signups is 5:00 pm, Friday, November 7.

Event Description:
Come spend an afternoon exploring the grounds of Bamboo Sourcery, founded by Gerald Bol in Sebastopol, California. This collection contains over 300 species - around every bend and in every nook you will find another type of bamboo on the 8-acre wooded property.

We will depart from the San Francisco Zoo at 9:00 am Sunday, November 9th, then sit back, relax and chat during the bus ride. The property is hilly and chilly in November, so be sure to wear good walking shoes and dress in layers. A catered Asian lunch will be provided at Bamboo Sourcery, and there will be ample time to enjoy the demonstration gardens and chat with nursery staff. We will leave for the return trip at 3:00 pm and arrive back at the Zoo by 5:00 p.m.

Also, we would appreciate an RSVP if you are planning to participate in the Walking Tour of San Francisco Urban Gardens Featuring Bamboo.

Two guided tours will take place, starting at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at the home of Rosy Ross near Chinatown and the Financial District of SF. RSVP is not required for you to attend, but would be very helpful for planning purposes. Please RSVP by email to ROSYROSS@aol.com.

Event Description:
Two guided tours of SF urban bamboo installations, starting at the home of Rosy Ross, Northern California ABS Board Member, at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Rosy’s rooftop garden features many species of bamboo in planters and examples of what can be grown in small spaces.
At this location, refreshments will be served and information and maps handed out for the Tour.
(Maps will also be available on the ABS Meeting website).

Directions to Rosy’s are as follows:
The townhouse and garden is located on the plaza level, found by going to 215 Jackson Street (between Battery and Front Sts), which is the Eureka Theater. Walk up the stairs to the right of the Theater. When you reach the Plaza level, walk to your left to Townhouse #5, with bamboo immediately in view. If planning to attend, it might be best to print out these directions now.

Hope to see you in a few days

You have attended one. :D

Actually some of the meetings that I have attended have become loud at times and it is always a relief when they are over.

Bill,

How was the dinner on the ship? Since you have returned, I'll assume no one threw you overboard.
