The Seattle bamboo Festival was last weekend I think it was the best one that I have attended.
Charissa Brock displayed some of her art and did one of the presentations. She also was selling some small pieces of art.
There were a number of plants in the auction but I think they were divided into two groups. "Not hardy for zone 6 or below" and "expensive".
The bamboo did not even have to be alive to make it into the auction. This Phyllostachys edulis 'Heterocycla' was half of the most expensive bamboo ever at an ABS auction. The original plant went for $7000 so this piece must have been worth $3500 It actually sold for $50.
No! I did not buy this one.
