Robin McBride Scott is an award-winning Cherokee Artist/Educator who works with Traditional and Contemporary to create museum quality Eastern Woodland and Southeastern Woodland Native American Art. She does educational programs, lectures, workshops and consulting for museums, Native American organizations, cultural centers and schools. Robin has been Artist-in-Residence several times for the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis and has her work in their collections as well as in the permanent Native American exhibits at the Indiana State Museum. Robin is an Advisory Board member for the Oklahoma Native American Basketweavers Association and was one of the 75 Native American weavers from across the U.S. honored to be selected to demonstrate at the 40th Annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival?s ?Carriers of Culture: Living Native Basket Traditions? on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. She will be teaching the construction of traditional Cherokee miniature mats in the Saturday workshop.
The mats are woven from River-cane. Robin did a rather interesting presentation at The Midwest ABS meeting last year.
