Live auction is October 21st, so we still have a few days to wait.

Believe me, I am anxious for the results as well seeing as I am current high bidder on 7 of the plants. I really hope I get out bid on a few of them because my wife will kill me if I win all of them

I'm torn between 2 opinions on the live bidding.

1...Will the high bid at the live auction be lower than it would normally be because they don't see, feel, and touch the live plants

OR

2...Will the live bidding be higher than normal because the bidders don't have to worry about how they are going to get the plant back home the next day.

Well one thing is for sure, I definitely wouldn't have bid as high as I did on the B. Lako knowing that BooKing was giving them away. ;)

But like I said previously, it's for a good cause. Plus, if I run out of room in my yard I have a neighbor who wants to start planting some boo, so I'll just take over his yard too

As for your two situations, I'm thinking #1... there is just no instant gratification when the bamboo aren't present. BUT the internet portion definitely opened the auction to a great deal more people than would've been present at a live auction only. I'm a perfect example... If I end up winning any plants it will prove that the internet auction helped push the bids higher.

I should have thought about donating them to the auction, but alas they would have wound up with their beholders anyway. Just the ABS would have had a little more green in their pocket. 8) Oh well, theirs always next year when I'll be donating alot more bamboos since it's in Philly.

Today is the day :blob8: :blob8:

Honestly, the only plant of the 7 I am high bidder on that I REALLY REALLYwant to win is the B. Doli. 'Silverstripe' (now that I have my B. Lako :D). I already have spaces picked out for all of them though, so whatever happens will be good.

Now watch... knowing my luck that is the only one I'll get outbid on :laughing1:

It does have beautiful culms, as in pic 1.

But the larger leaves can pull some of the culms over, as in pic. 2.

I have no idea what time the auction took place today, but considering it is in Hawaii there is still plenty of time left in the day.

BTW, I have checked this forum about 20 times today looking for the results :laughing1:
