general post?

I'm wondering if I'm missing something or is there not a way to ask a question without adding a post? I know there is the chat but you may not get the instant reply you want; Maybe a general post would work or should I just go to the "off the topic " post? For now I'll post my question on chat.

You could start a new topic. You can also pm or email an individual to ask them a question.
