Anyways, here is a photobucket gallery link for now. Bill, I tried to post pics to the picture gallery, but I noticed that it got posted twice (yes my fault, sometimes the internet link here goes down, so I hit submit again thinking it was down, and it wasn't...).

I also noticed that there wasn't a photo next to my entry like boonuts. I don't know if my browser is giving up on such a very large file (1.3 meg) since I am on a slow connection.

I notice almost all entries are tiny in comparison to the one I tried to post. Is there a suggested (preferred on your part?) photo size? I'll try to find some freeware photo resizing software...

Also, are we able to somehow modify our entries text data after the fact, or are we stuck with what was entered at the time of entry? Just curious as I couldn't find a way to edit photos I've submitted.

I use software called "PhotoImpact" from Ulead to do most of my graphics and edit my photos. It is really great and easy to use. I try to limit the length or width of the photo (whichever is greater) to 780 pixels. Once I have everything the way I want, then I merge all the graphics etc.. on the picture and save as a .jpg file. I use compression of the files around 80 -90%. The higher the number, the less compression. At these numbers, you really can't tell that they are compressed and the picture look the same, but the file size is smaller.

The logos for Jim Rehor's site, Sherry Snodress' site, and my school district's site were all created using PhotoImpact... as well as my own site I use the same software for all the pictures to combine with graphics or just to edit the way I want. You can download Ulead's software at: for about $69... can't beat the price. I am still using PhotoImpact 12... you may be able to download an older version somewhere online for less.

There are many ways of learning to manipulate pictures, so have fun and let everyone know what you are using so that others can post with smaller file sizes as well.
