In case you have missed the location button in the profile you can enter you location, soil, and climate information there. After you enter your information a location button will show up in your posts.

If you do not see the button in my posts log in first.

Well, let me be the first to see if it does.

Somethings not working right for me. I went in and looked over the info and changed the pointer showing my location, then I clicked "Update and Return". I must be missing something or not doing something right.

For what it is worth, I filled out my info, and it seems to be working fine. I now see a location button under my avatar and old profile info. It is pretty neat, though I personally still like to see all the info there without having to click on the button to see it. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

For what it is worth, on the google map part of it, putting in my zip code Put me in the middle of the boonies (well that is to be expected being a tiny town), so I had to click on the red flag, and you can drag it towards where you want to move it to, and then let off the mouse button.

That is pretty cool Bill, nice work!

I see "LOCATION" under my name now, but I still can't save the changes.

Roy,
Try it now. I think there was a problem with the elevation and rainfall being blank.

test

edit: ok now it's there. :)

Any way of hot linking my weather station? Also, the plant list seems to be acting odd... I'm getting a bunch of html italics flags around the bamboo names, and you get the dreaded 404 error if you click on any of the plant names. I'm also seeing the html tags in the regular plant lists, but those aren't hot-linked to anywhere.

Well, it's good that at least your mouse has ears so that it could hear you prompting it to do better. :D

okay, now I got it. apparently it disagreed with the fact that I had not put in any location notes....
once I did that, it worked.

when you click on someones location button, there are no controlls on the map? if you click on the map, you zoom closer and closer, with no way to back out.....
anyone else see that?

OKAY, final thoughts....

really cool that you can see your list of bamboo as well, however the links to the photos did not work for me. Any way to have the option to link a photo of our own plant in-situ to it?

Well, at least I feel better. I'm not the only idiot (sorry, I meant "person) who is having some problems.

I'm a Mac person, so when I hold down on the "control" key and click with my mouse, then it zooms out. You should be able to do it on Windows perhaps with a "right click".

double left click zooms in
double right click zooms out
