@##%@ DNS Errors

Post by bambooweb »

Sorry about the problems connecting the last couple of days

The web host decided to change our IP address and when I complained that I could not get on yesterday morning I got this 'helpful' reply:
Thank you for contacting Support.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. We have switched the DNS hence your Web site: http://bambooweb.info/ is down. This is the reason you were unable to access the Web site. It is a temporary issue and now it will be resolved. You will be able to access it within a couple of time.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are available 24x7.
If you can read this "a couple of time" has passed and the site, and my e-mail should work from now on. :?

PS I am able to access the site through http://host210.ipowerweb.com/~bamboowe/bb/ so I can send this.

Bill,
I had an awful time trouble-shooting a routing issue yesterday that ended up being with the backbone Level3 in Dallas. Couldn't get passed that hop. Redundant - only when it wants to be. We have three websites on the same box and could only get to one although other people in other parts of the country were OK (routing a different way). Never in my life have I had so many people puzzled. We gave up and a few hours later, as I expected, it started working again. At least you got an answer.........

I didn't know that I could hold the site hostage

Actually after the first year they did shut the site down for non-payment after they credited the wrong account. :?

Hopefully we won't have any more problems. I have checked ping times and the new IP pings twice as fast as the old one did with no timeouts.
