I just brought my potted baby moso in for the winter yesterday, and our kitten is absoultely fascinated with it! She crawls all over and around it, and in the first day alone has eaten several tips off the leaves. I had no idea cats like to eat bamboo!
Any suggestions for putting a stop to this other than catching her in the act and hosing her with a squirtgun???? Would pepper or tobasco or anything on the leaves hurt the bamboo?

I don't think pepper would hurt the bamboo, but it could cause some harm to the kitten. Yes, it may repel her, but it may also get into her nose and eyes and that hurts!
I heard on a gardening show that citrus peels will keep cats away, but don't know if that's true (it was in the context of outdoor cats in the veggie garden).
