after years of fighting, and using every posstible form of poison, gas bomb, and trap.... finaly, I have caught a gopher... unfortunately, I noticed it was working on what was a 5 gal P. nigra Megurochiku, which is how I found it..... the castor oil did not deter this sucker!
here is the dead gopher (caught it in a gopher trap) and the unfortunate boo...
note the massive bamboo eating teeth!

I guess I could have dipped it in chocolate.... Id pretty much eat anything, as long as it had chocolate too!
on a more somber note.... with the heat yesterday and today 90f, I noticed my Ps. japonica Tsutsumiana was turning brown.... pulled up most of it- someone had been eating it too... set the trap there, but its close enought that it could be the same critter- that would explain some of the fat.... the other reason for it being chunky is that is was a girl, and looked pretty preggo....
one less litter of bamboo destroyers loose underground around here!

I got a mole this year that was SO huge. It was crazy. Was thinking about deep fat frying it for the dogs. Shame to waste that much meat.

That's some pretty dramatic lighting in those gopher photos. Nice work!

I was trying for "evil boo eating creature"
guess I hit it right on the head, huh?
was nice to have some warm days with some sun... last few days have been sunny, and cold. today and the next few days are supposed to be overcast, possibly rain, which is good, I guess, for the boos, but its gonna stall the shoots for things to drop in temp like they have!
