I don't know what to get with all that's is out there today as far as digital cameras. I only want to spend about $300 for one but I want the best I can get for the $300 if you had to get one in this range what would you get. I know more pixels the better but that's about it.
Thank you, John G.

One site that is very useful for camera reviews is: http://www.dpreview.com/. I've been happy using a Canon S2 which currently sells in your price range. The S3 costs more but isn't much different aside from offering 6 Mpix instead of 5.

RE: Help me pick a new camera please!
I just upgraded to the Canon A630 from the A520 for $250.
It has 8 Megapixals, 2.5 inch LCD monitor and has a macro mode that can focus as close as 1 cm.
Now I just need to learn all of its features.

Thanks for the web site link and the info. I have talked to a couple of other people and on a professional photographer and he recommended the Canon dp-3. That's 3 votes for the canons so I will check out all I can and let you know what I got.
Thank You!

Well, I picked up a Cannon A630 yesterday. I took a few pictures but I need to play with it some more. It sure does take better pictures than my video camera by far. I think I need to get a tripod thought to take really detailed pictures and also learn how to use it. I will post some pictures here soon for you to see.
Thanks for the help!
