One of the Phy. arcana seedlings has grown oval shoots. Not just oval, they are flat. These are largest shoots and are not fully grown yet, but they are oval from the bottom to the top - at least so far - like I said, they are not done growing yet.

I was thinking about what could be the cause. If it's rhizome congestion, wouldn't the culms return to normal round shape shortly?

I'm sure it's not going to be oval culmed, but it would be awesome. These culms really look special.

Here's a couple pictures of an oval culm I had this year.

Just noticed the insect on the culm.

I had a vivax culm come up oval, I think it was jammed between root barrier and a rock or something.
