Vivax Aureocaulis changing

Post by tallgrass »

Vivax changing. 3 years ago, my Vivax Aueocaulis started putting up a few Haungwenzu shoots. This year it added a Haungwezu Inversa. A freind several miles away has an all green in his V.Auero grove. I have several half and half but I think that's just the nature of the V.Arueo.

It seems vivax is rather unstable. I bought Vivax Aureocaulis(Was labeled as such) at a nursery in northern Arkansas and I'm fairly certain that the parent grove was patterened like Aureocaulis when i saw it, but every shoot the division has sent up since I got it 2 years ago has been Hwengwenzu Inversa patterned. Not that I'm disappointed as I like H.I. just as much as Aureocaulis.

Heres this springs shoots (they are all leafed out now as this was taken earlier last month)

My Vivax seems to be changing too.
Last year I got one green culm, and this year I've got four green ones. I like it though!
