Hello! I am interested in learning which type of bamboo plant is used for creating martial art weapons and ferniture. I have searched throughout the web but i would appreciate your suggestions. Thank you.

I would guess it to be one of the harder culmed phyllostachys, but I really have no idea. Perhaps phyllostachys bambusoides, or a combination of species. It probably takes advanced craftsmanship that may require learning from someone who is already experienced in making stuff with bamboo.

The only crafting I've ever done with bamboo is trellises or tomato cages.

Another one with strong culms is P nuda. It has nickname of 'stone bamboo'.
