Long culm sheaths
I was thinking about Borinda fungosa (if it really is what it was supposed to be) shoot growth. Picture attached above.
I'm sure that this strange growth pattern occurs because of long culm sheaths, but does it go away when the shoots go over an inch or up to two inches in diameter. Dos it happen on other bamboos with large sheathes or is it unique for Borindas. I've seen other people asking about such shoots, thinking that they were attacked by slugs, but since I'm growing this thing for a couple of years, I know it's perfectly normal, healthy shoot.

Tarzanus - These big sheaths certainly portend some very big culms in the future, don't you think? Why not send your question to Chris Stapleton as an email?
