I found these today and very happy to see the consistent upsizing of the culms. So far about 8 of these have been found.
The shortest one has the most 'hairs' of all I have found. It is about 3.5" tall. The other is about 14" tall. I am thinking that the larger is 1 1/4" in diameter but I could be wrong as the sheaths could be making it look that way.

8 shoots does sound kind of few for a 4 year old seedling, but my guess is that a lot of energy is going into the upsize as well as the expanding network of rhizomes. It's supposed to get pretty warm for the next couple weeks across the entire country so that might stop any more shoot buds from activating as it will likely be above the shooting temperature range, but those shoots should get tall in a hurry.
How many feet have the shoots gotten away from the original spot?
I'm kind of surprised that moso can turn into an open grove that quickly.

Those particular two are about 3' from the original planting. I say this because the smaller one seems to be last on the rhizome.
There have been more than 8 shoots from the two plants altogether. I haven't taken an official count but I may to that tomorrow.
