question ? what caues a bamboo shoot tip to deform ?

question ? what caues a bamboo shoot tip to deform ?
I have noticed that some of my bamboo shoots tips have curled or are not straight in line with the culm...any one have a answer?

Purely guessing but there could be more than one factor....climate....sudden change....i.e. water, wind, temp.....attack from insect causing an injury to its growth...or a gene in the plant itself....or lack of or too much of a nutrient. I think it would be difficult to say there is one reason why....purely my personal opinion...
