Another one that grew well this year, The board in the picture is 12 ft long, so some of these shoots are close to 16 ft.

Some literature has 16 ft as max height, other sources say up to 25 ft.

This is a big shock. I thought there were numerous reports of Kimmei being hopelessly tender???? it's look super and vigourous as well.

Thanks for the pics, Dependable! Kimmei is one of my favorites so far: shoots like mad and beautiful form and color!

I am in Plant Zone 7a. Sometimes the leaves get beat up looking in winter, but not last year. Have not had a real deep freeze since I planted this.

I'm in Zone 6 and Kimmei came through the Winter here undamaged and has sized up. Last Winter was not a typical Winter, but it might be a sign of things to come...

I've seen this bamboo at an inch diameter and 20 feet'ish tall but it was the ugliest grove I've ever seen due to extreme fungus/mold on the canes - just ruined the look.
