Oh my.. My heart thinks its a wonderful idea but my brain just knows better. I just can't imagine the soil space and moisture systems provided can handle the dessication the Santa Ana winds will cause. Why not use lichen and moss instead?

Yes, it looks pretty neat. Seems like the piece highlighted the artist's experience working with bamboo products over his experience growing. Would like to see a follow up, but I suspect you are right.

Water and nutrients will have to be delivered constantly or else, this billboard won't last a week.

Haven't seen this and I've searched kick-starter for bamboo before and.. well no wonder, there's no bamboo in the title.
