A couple of new shoots of Parker's Giant came up about a month ago... Bambusa Lako also put up about 8 new shoots. Bambusa Nana started putting up shoots several days ago. It is sizing up nice. I had two of these. One I planted in my back yard in town. I had it in a pot for several years. It really likes the compost and warm days. Here are some of the pictures for identification purposes. After the bamboo gets a little more size, I will post pictures of the overall plant and shape.

I use a Nikon D7000 with a Tokina 100mm F2.8 Macro lens. It works great when used with flash... even hand holding the camera. I stop it down to F18 or higher to get good detail. Hope this helps!

Allen - Just beautiful photos! I'm amazed that you were able to hand hold the camera. I have a D80,,old school now, and thinking of getting the D7000. Anyway,,it's the photographer and not the camera, and you are proof of that. These are simply astounding photos!!!
