How long have you had it?? mine is in the ground and its the first spring for me. I didn't see any activity yet.

that patch has been in the ground close to 10 years, the culm diameter the past couple of seasons has been in the 2"-2.5" range. Of course, the number of shoots is smaller compared to when first planted but I willing accept the trade off for the size of culms you end up with. I am in Oklahoma City which is zone 7.
