SAilver Dollar Eucalytus

Post by johnw »

Great fun growing these Eucalyptus. Bought 2 single-stemmed 6" plants in 4" pots in June 2011 for $1.99 each. They wintered indoors 2011/12 having reached about 6ft the first year. They took off this year leaving us with the problem of how to get them in the greenhouse for the winter. May have to chop them back severely.

In the southern NS they come back from the roots in spring but not here.

Yah, same problem here. People plant eucs and we have a mild winter or two, and then a hard frost comes along to 14 F or lower, and they all croak. Then the cycle repeats. Its ausing to see all these people here buy stuff that is just not suited to this climate.
Happy trails...
