We went to our local nursery for a Halloween party, and I ended up talking to the head honcho about bamboo which transitioned into palms. Somehow I mentioned that I was pretty much done collecting plants, but I still needed a mule palm. He told me to hold on a sec. while he ran off. He came back saying today was my lucky day, because they had dug up a 15 gal. mule out of their gardens for a customer, but they changed their mind, so he'd give me a great deal on it... and the rest, as they say, is history.

I have a couple more that I'll leave in pots for this winter, and then put in the ground next spring. I also have a couple special ones that I'm going to wait until we build our house and barn on our land, and then use them in a landscaped courtyard, but that is still a couple years down the road.
