Man, bananas look nice when you've had no storms or hail to shred the leaves! :wink: I'm guessing you'd gladly trade some shredded leaves for some nice strong storms though.

Brad, please tell us again what species those are, and what measures you take to protect them over the winter.

Also, papyrus is a great plant! I've got to figure out how to overwinter some so I don't have to fret about finding 'King Tut' again next year.

Musa basjoo and the red is...um...zebrina? It came from FoxD but I think that is correct. I plan on digging them out and bringing them indoors this winter, they get larger lots faster that way.

I'm also planning on getting a small pond liner and building a pond indoors this winter, that way I can keep the Mex papyrus (don't know if you can see it in the photo to the right, it is about 8 feet tall) alive and give my fish a bigger hangout. This will add plenty of indoor winter humidity! The bananas - I've got 4 to bring in - plus the pond plus a few other houseplants and it will fill up the room pretty quick, I may have to hack my way to TV watching.
