Cedrus deodara 'Karl Fuchs' problem?

Other plants we have or landscape elements like ponds.

Cedrus deodara 'Karl Fuchs' problem?

Post by JakeK »

I have a grafted Karl Fuchs that is over 7 ft. tall. One branch tip (the last 2 inches of it) has dried out. The needles have fallen off of the branch tip and the buds that are on the end of it have just flaken off. It seems the drying out is spreading up the branch towards the trunk, albeit rather slowly (maybe 1/2inch per month). Only one branch tip on the entire branch has been affected by this. No other branch tips on the entire tree have been affected. Sorry no pictures.
Does anyone have any clues to what is causing this? I really don't want to lose the entire tree especially since it is so rare around here.
Thanks,
Jake

Don't be alarmed. My Cedrus cultivars always get some tip dieback each year. They are really a zone7 plant.
