Refer to http://bambooweb.info/bb/viewtopic.php?t=148 for our seed adventures. Growing bamboo from seed has many advantages such as genetic diversity, long growing period before it flowers, possible chance to find a cold-hardier seedling, or variegated/special features exhibited.

I bait vole traps with witha small dab of peanut butter with a few sunflower seeds stuck on top. The sticky peanut butter makes it difficult for them to steal the bait. I set the traps next to any vole holes I find and cover hole and trap with an upturned bucket ...
