I'm eager to try my Trichocereus outside which I've seen rated for 7b. They grow about 30' tall and come from mountainous parts of Argentina. Have to work out the drainage and winter humidity thing first though.

... first half, the lowest temperature recorded on the campus weather station was 7 F. Essentially, we have had winter weather more typical of of Zone 7b, rather than 5b/6a! I'm going to be very disappointed if I don't have 20+ foot culms this spring!

... never reach the specified temperature limit in my region we loose these plants every some years. Perhaps our form of cultivation is not ok. Zone 7b, loamy humous ground, about 800-900 mm rain. Can anybody help me ? Klaus-Peter
