Horse manure in new bamboo bed
I am putting in a new bamboo bed where a concrete path was, I have had topsoil delivered, my question is can I put fresh horse manure in the trench before I put topsoil in ? I am going to be adding bamboos moved from my nursery that are in the ground

Well my plant outside is growing very well but the one in a greenhouse is doing even better and the variegation is fabulous far better than my Nigra Kyoshi

Thanks for all the help, I am going to move in August, the trouble is the manageable plants I am going to move have put up inch culms this year but ha ho that’s life

Moving Phyllostachys
I want to move quite a few Phyllostachys from my nursery which are all in the ground to my new house I know I now need to wait until autumn but which mouth? And any advice on moving them would be appreciated

It is difficult to say Deane, a lot of the pictures you show from your great collection come from relatively small plants. So edulis “mixta” is shooting in the greenhouse which is great but if you look the culm is yellow ?? Thoughts people

Phyllostachys Nigra ‘Punctata ‘ seems to be the fastest Nigra to blacken it’s culms out of all the Nigra’s , the culms in the picture are this years. What’s other peoples findings ??

I have definitely seen a difference between my one growing in the ground inside my greenhouse compare to my one outside in the ground

A variegated form of F. sp. 'Scabrida' found at our nursery. Has bright, narrow white stripes on the foliage, especially evident in the spring as new leaves unfurl. Colors fade somewhat by summer.
